More Robbie Burns Race Pictures.

Go, Saucony (sponsored athletes, Tyler Lord and Krista DuChene)! Check out Tyler's success at www.tylerlord.blogspot.com
I like this picture because it reminds me of the days I used to play hockey with the boys (I was the first non-goalie to play highschool hockey in Lambton county! Good thing the coach, Mr. Tremblay put me as centre with two big guys on each wing!). Even as a kid (I started hockey at age 4), I remember some boys who did NOT want a girl to beat them, at anything, let alone what used to be boy's game!
Well, keep it up, guys! I love the challenge as we push to run our best.

What a super race. I think the best part was the real, cooked oatmeal after the race. You just can't beat that! With my job as a Registered Dietitian, I recommend that for breakfast to soooo many people. It helps decrease cholesterol, regulate blood sugars, and make you feel full, longer. Add some peanut butter (and of course, brown sugar) to it with a glass of milk and a piece of fruit = great!

1st woman in 28:21. I took Monday and Tuesday pretty easy with a recovery run and a few hills the next day (with Seth in the Chariot). Today (Wednesday) I did a swim and tempo run at the gym and am feeling good.

First Victory of the Year - Robbie Burns 8 km !!

If you want to run a race with a lot of great spirit and energy, I recommend the Robbie Burns 8 km. I admire all those who completed the entire race wearing their kilts!

Check out these ladies - the Tartan Tarts from Hamilton. Now, that is spirit! Way to go, girls (one lady was missing, sorry)!
Well, here I am in my Saucony and Eload racing gear. Can you believe I was able to wear shorts and a cap in January?! The weather was amazing (the rain didn't come until a few hours after the race). I had a good warm-up and ran with a pack of 10 guys for most of the race. I secured first female overall with a time of about 28:22.

Saucony Racing Outfit and The Difference Eload Makes

Again, the boys were quite pleased to open another Saucony package. Cute models, don't you think?

Here are the boys from last summer when I received an eload shipment. These gels and drinks (eload during long runs and emend after for recovery) have made a significant improvement in training at a higher level. I find that I can give more during hard runs, and recover easily after. Time to place a new order as I am just finishing week 3 of my training.

Saucony Shoes Arrival and Robbie Burns 8 km

Upon returning home after a 1 km swim and 30 km treadmill run at the gym, I was pleased to see that something had been delivered to our house.
Usually it is work-related for Jonathan. But this time, it was for me. I think the boys were just as pleased as I was about it!
Good thing it had 2 boxes of shoes - one for each boy! Now to decide which pair to wear for the Robbie Burns 8 km race Sunday. My racing flats ("Fastwitch") were just ordered so likely won't get here before Sunday.
